SEP recap

•August 7, 2009 • Leave a Comment

ahhh school is starting soon and next week marks the end of my super long holiday :(

anyway, i would like to do a summary of key things that happened during my SEP and i will try to do it in order of merit

- reaching belgium and being greeted by a dobby-looking chinaman and sharing a house with a hell lotta chinamen for about a week.

- Doing a massive cleanup of our apartment once all the chinamen left

- having our electricity and gas cut off for almost a month and thus purposely travelling around just to get a shower! our shower woes also include having to bathe old school style by boiling water and using a pail to pour water!

- Chinese new year fell on my birthday and thankfully it marked the end of our electricity problems that allowed us to boil water, but unfortunately the gas didnt come back.

- shit i can only remember the bad things. let me think of a good thing.. oh yes, i bought my guitar in belgium around CNY period. this was the start of the pimpin’!

- i really enjoyed most of the dollarbeer trio’s travelling around together, especially to chatel which involved a 15hr bus ride i think. awesome skiing

- Travelling to berlin with darren’s friends val and amos (who did not know we were neighbours)

- easter break! my mom came over and i had to hide all my contraband items such as my shisha bong. which was kinda redundant now since she saw it when i brought it home to singapore =X

- Hanging out with my grandfather’s old boss in amsterdam was pretty cool. managed to get a free tour by a real local.

- trip to london and liverpool. friggin awesome..and london again with my extended family.. woah i love london man. shopping and strip clubs. haha!

- Meeting new friends was a definite highligh of the entire SEP, so we now have new friends from belgium, thailand, canada, afghanistan, greece, bulgaria and romania.. just to name a few

- final eurotrip was pretty awesome although towards the end i just wanted to go back to singapore already!

- anyway, here’s a quick shoutout to Jon and Darren, thanks for making our SEP so memorable! I’m sure we’ll have lotsa stories to talk about for a very long time…

back in singapore

wow! it’s been 2 weeks since i have been back and it feels sooo good. You know the first thing i did when i arrived was to have some kaya toast and my favourite yin yang drink. My quest to satisfy the hunger for local stuff led me to places like Master crab at ghim moh for salted egg crab and some hawker centre at commonwealth to drink some kopi. 80cents for a coffee! oh my goodnes.. wonderful..

Anyway, im just posting something to keep this travel blog somewhat alive.. very soon i will post a summary or overview about our stay in belgium. hopefully it is amusing enough!

bitching

You know a couple of days ago when i was just about to leave belgium i really wanted to write a super angry-bitching post about my chinaman subletter dobby dude.

at that time i was so angry i started to entertain thoughts of doing things that i would most probably regret.

anyway i am not angry anymore and so i will not do a bitching post about him, but what i will do is show u the state of my house when i came back from my month long eurotrip! (all thanks to that ..urgh.. idiot)

greetings from singapore!
Joshua

Atomium

•June 8, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I received Juli and friends a couple of days back and I took the opportunity to go with them to the Atomium.. its a pretty nice building actually though the whole concept is still kinda lame to me. Anyway, it was only today that i realised this whole rotting at home for the past month has indeed taken its toll. Just a simple outing like that has left me rather tired and just longing to go back home to watch something on my computer.. at this rate i’m going at, i dont know how i am gonna survive my London-Greece-Italy trip!

i will try and upload some pictures soon, as soon as i can shake off this recent wave of procastination!
